Simeon Simons and His Role in the Revolution, with Junise Golden Feather Bliss
Simeon Simons, a Western Pequot and Pokanoket Wampanoag, served in the Continental Army during the American Revolutionary War, and was a personal bodyguard to George Washington.
The Sacred Cause of 1776: Religion and the Revolution, with Mark Valeri, PhD
Mark Valeri, Professor of Politics and Religion at Washington University, St Louis, will discuss the intersection of politics and religion during the lead up to the American Revolution. Free and open to the public.
Heroics and Hardships: History of Block Island Life Saving Service, with Janet Dionis
Janet Dionis, Island historian, will present on the history of the Life Saving Service as part of the 2026 Exhibition Saviors & Salvagers: Block Island Shipwrecks. Free and open to the public.
